Hur använder vi vatten i Sverige?
Det är inte så väl känt hur mycket vatten vi i Sverige använder varje år,…
For the past decade, I’ve been part of something truly unique: testing and developing new water solutions inside a real apartment building where people actually live. The HSB Living Lab has been my research home, and together with colleagues, partners, and residents, we’ve explored what the future of water in our homes might look like.
Now, much of that journey is gathered in my new book, Ten Years of Water-Related Innovation in a Habitation Living Lab.
The book tells the story of 31 different projects – from shower drains that recover heat, to smart meters that reveal hidden patterns, to experiments with greywater reuse and behavioral nudges. What ties them all together is the combination of technology and everyday life. These weren’t just lab tests – they were lived experiences, and that makes the insights very real.
If you are curious about sustainable housing, urban water, or simply how everyday habits connect to global challenges, I think you’ll find this book inspiring. It’s not just about technology – it’s about people, and how we can build homes that are both smarter and kinder to the planet.

Writing this book has been a chance to reflect on everything we’ve learned – the successes, the challenges, and the unexpected lessons that only emerge when real people live with new ideas.
I hope it sparks new conversations, inspires new projects, and maybe even helps shape how we design the sustainable homes of tomorrow.
